Here is the twist: neither side of that rumor is true because the golden eagle doesn’t actually exist!
On June 29, 2026, Donald Trump posted an image on Truth Social showing a massive golden eagle slapped onto the front of the Truman Balcony, calling it “A Golden Gift to the White House for its 250th Birthday Year!”
The official White House social media accounts even shared it, which naturally got everyone talking. However, investigative reporters and photographers quickly pulled receipts and discovered two things:
- It’s AI-generated: Journalists checked the image’s metadata, which revealed it was created using Google AI. If you look closely at the picture, the eagle’s shield only has 11 stars instead of the 13 representing the original colonies, and the balcony railing lines don’t quite match reality.
- The balcony is empty: Freelance photographers went down to the White House lawn the exact same night the photo was posted, took real-time pictures of the Truman Balcony, and confirmed there is absolutely nothing attached to it.
So, American taxpayers didn’t buy a giant golden eagle, and no one gifted a physical one either. It is just a digital, AI-generated concept piece that went viral!
